||Once in a while comes a work that can be truly described as definitive and an important contribution to the culture that we call Popular Music. AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" is such a work. From the opening thuggish chant of "Oi!" on the platters opening track to the final "Fixed her good" on "Squeeler"
When Bob Scott sings "Cop This" on "Problem Child" we know we are in for an aural antipodean assault of gargantuan proportions. Yet it is an album of contrasts, from the soul searching line "Another lonely evening in another lonely town" (Ride On) to the vicious "Hey Howard get your F*ck*ng Jumbo Jet off My Airport" (Ain't no fun waiting around to be a Millionaire).
The Musicianship is second to none, the driving rhythms supplied by Phillip Rudder and Clint 'Boyo' Williams, supplemented beautifully by the Angus Brothers (Micky and Argos).
A magnificent opus...and one which makes me want to become more familiar with this groups material.
